Before she graced our screens as Charlotte York, the sophisticated romantic in Sex and the City (introduced in 1997), Kristin Davis portrayed Brooke Armstrong, the spoiled and cunning character on Melrose Place.

In a recent interview with People, Davis reflected on her pressures while playing Brooke amongst a cast of stunning and fit actresses. While she fondly recalled her time on set, especially praising Heather Locklear for being “so incredibly nice”, she admitted the environment had its challenges.

“There was a general vibe on the set, though, that was difficult, about the thinness situation,” Davis shared. “Every single person was gorgeous and super skinny. So I was like, ‘This is what I have to do.’”

To keep up, Davis pushed herself beyond healthy limits. She worked with a running coach and squeezed in multiple spin classes daily to maintain her frame.

“I’m sure I wasn’t eating. I’d be so lightheaded that I fainted in a parking lot one time. Sometimes I couldn’t remember my name,” she admitted, shedding light on the impact the pressures had on her well-being.

Interestingly, Davis shared that her backup plan in the early ’90s (if acting didn’t pan out) was to open a yoga studio.

Now, stepping into the podcasting world, the beloved actress has launched Are You A Charlotte? on iHeartRadio. The podcast revisits Sex and the City episodes, offering her own Charlotte-like commentary, behind-the-scenes stories, and insight into the award-winning series.
