Japanese convenience stores are now offering a quirky new drink: ‘drinkable mayonnaise’. Lawson, a popular convenience store chain, has introduced “Nomu” mayo, a chilled beverage that promises to capture the “rich and sour” flavours of mayonnaise.

This mayo-style drink has caused quite a stir, with some Reddit users commenting that it tastes remarkably similar to pure mayo. One brave taster shared, “If you sip it while eating something that pairs well with mayo, it’s not so bad. But as a standalone drink… not as recommended.”

Another daring individual described it as “exactly like a very “liquidee” Kewpie mayo but extra salty”. However, not everyone is willing to give it a try, calling it “gross”, “disgusting”, and even “diabolical”. It remains to be seen if this mayo concoction will win over the hearts of mayo enthusiasts during its test sale period.
