Australia Post is celebrating Australia’s beloved children’s television with a new stamp collection, featuring iconic series and films that have captured the hearts of generations. Launching this week, the Kids’ Showtime Greats collection showcases memorable shows spanning over 50 years, including classics like Round the Twist, Blinky Bill, Dot and the Kangaroo, Babe, and Skippy the Bush Kangaroo.
Jenny Buckland, CEO of the Australian Children’s Television Foundation, emphasised the significance of this collection, stating, “Australia has a proud tradition of creating unique content for children, which is integral to our cultural identity and shared memories.” She believes that these stamps will evoke joy and nostalgia among adult Australians, reinforcing the importance of continuing to tell stories for today’s youth.
Josh Bannister, Executive General Manager of Australia Post, echoed this sentiment, inviting Australians to relive their childhood memories. “If you’re feeling nostalgic, visit a participating Post Office or shop online to send letters adorned with a piece of Australian film and television history.” The Kids’ Showtime Greats stamp collection is now available at selected Australia Post outlets and online.
