Woman charged after allegedly pushing a crepe into Chief Minister Natasha Fyles face

A woman has been charged after allegedly assaulting the Northern Territory Chief Minister on Sunday.

The 56-year-old woman is accused of smashing a cream covered crepe to Chief Minister Natasha Fyles face at the Nightcliff markets at around 11:40am.

Ms Fyles was attending a 15th anniversary event for the Bendigo Bank branch in Nightcliff at the time, which is also near her electorate office.

NT Police have now charged the woman with aggravated assault following the incident.

She has been bailed and is due to front Darwin Local Court on October 10.
