An NT Police dog has chased down a wanted man through bush land in Katherine.
Police allege the 18-year-old is involved with domestic violence incidents and serious property offending, and he had been going to great lengths to avoid police by swimming across the Katherine River, running through peoples yards, and leading police on car chases through the town.
Katherine police coordinated an arrest plan, where Patrol Dog Daly picked up on the mans scent and began tracking him into nearby scrubland on Monday morning.
The man was tracked through a dried creek bed and thick grass into a second creek bed, where the man laid low before PD Daly found him.
The man attempted to run from police before PD Daly seized him, and he was arrested.
He is due to face court at the next available date.
In a statement, Sergeant Andrew Thomson says the arrest was successful and a great demonstration of different police units working together to bring the individual involved to justice, despite his attempts to avoid police.
