Two people dead after separate Northern Suburbs shootings

Investigations are continuing after two fatal shootings in Darwin yesterday.

Police and emergency services responded to reports of a man with gun shot wounds at a home in Eaton Place Karama at around 4:30pm Tuesday.

The 63-year-old man was declared dead on arrival, with police establishing a crime scene at the home.

In a separate incident, police and emergency services were called to a home on Sprigg Street Millner at around 6:30pm Tuesday with reports of two people suffering from gun shot injuries.

A 38-year-old woman was taken to hospital for surgery where she remains in a critical condition, and a 35-year-old man was declared dead at the scene.

A crime scene has since been established at the Millner home.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Paul Morrissey says the shooting are not related.

“They do not appear to be related, firearms have been located at each scene, and there does not appear to be any danger to the public.”

It is believed there were other people present at the Karama home during the time of the shooting, and the man and woman at the Millner home are believed to be in a domestic relationship.
