Trio charged over spate of robberies at Darwin businesses

Three people have been arrested over an alleged stealing spree in Darwin City. 

Two boys aged 15 and 17 and a 37-year-old woman were allegedly part of a group who stole several small items from a Harriet Place business at 10.20am on Wednesday. 

The group then allegedly went on to rob other businesses on Smith Street and Shadforth Lane.

One of the youths is also accused of threatening people with an edged weapon during two of the robberies. 

Police say the trio then travelled to Ludmilla where they allegedly used stolen credit cards to purchase items from a service station on Bagot Road. 

All three were arrested at a nearby shopping centre. 

The 15-year-old boy is facing four charges, while the 17-year-old is up for two offences including aggravated robbery and going armed in public. 

The woman was issued with a notice to appear in court.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Bland says investigations are ongoing to find the others involved. 

“We are urging anyone with information to make contact on 131 444. Please quote reference 10162264.”
