A crime scene has been declared after two shots were fired in a Katherine home during an alleged aggravated robbery.
Police responded to reports of two men allegedly unlawfully entering a home on Acacia Drive, Katherine East at around 2:20am Tuesday.
It’s alleged one of the men shot the gun inside the house before physically assaulting a resident.
The victim is known to the two men and was not injured from the gun shot, but does have minor injuries from the physical assault.
The two men allegedly proceeded to steal a quantity of cash before fleeing the scene.
Following this incident one of the offenders, linked to the alleged aggravated robbery, was arrested in relation to a domestic disturbance.
Police visited a home on Ronan Court, Katherine East at 3:45am and established a cordon in the area.
The 31-year-old man attempted to flee from police but was arrested without incident – he remains in police custody.
Detectives from the Katherine Criminal Investigations Branch are investigating both incidents and the gun is yet to be located.
