Katherine residents are being encouraged to participate in a nationwide study looking to bolster severe weather warnings.
The Bureau of Meteorology is holding workshops right across the country, collecting information about the natural hazards in each region.
It’s part of an aim to create a warning service for Australian communities which helps influence effective decision-making and hazard preparedness.

A session will be held in Katherine on November 14 with $200 in remuneration to be paid to participants.
