Territory residents are set to benefit following the addition of a new non-stop domestic flight route from the capital city.

Qantas and the NT’s Airport Development Group have joined forces announcing flights between Darwin and Canberra.

The airline will fly the Embraer-190 on the service, which is expected to kick off from June this year.

Late last year the airline announced it would be resuming flights between the Top End and Singapore using their brand new Airbus A220 aircraft.

The route comes as part of a new five-year agreement signed between the airline and the Airport Development Group, covering Darwin and Alice Springs Airport.

Executive General Manager Airports Rob Porter says they are looking forward to the partnership.

” This collaboration reflects our shared commitment to enhancing
connectivity for the Northern Territory and supporting the growth of aviation services,” he says.
