A pedestrian has been struck and killed by a car in Palmerston with police calling for witnesses.
The man was hit on the inbound lane of the Stuart Highway, just before the turnoff to Temple Terrace at 9pm on Friday.
The driver and other occupants stopped to help the man and called emergency services.
Upon arrival they began resuscitation but declared the man dead at the scene.
The Major Crash Investigation Unit is investigating, with efforts underway to identify the victim.
Officers are keen to speak to any motorists who travelled through the area before 11pm in a bid to work out why the man was on the road.
