NT Police have tracked down and arrested a man more than a week after a fatal hit and run in Darwin’s Rural Area.
It’s believed the 38-year-old man was involved with the death of a 31-year-old male motorcyclist who died at the corner on Whitewood Road Howard Springs on October 11.
Detectives identified the 38-year-olds Toyota ute was at the scene at the time of the fatality, with police alleging that the motorcyclist crashed into the utes rear.
It is also alleged the driver of the ute continued, before stopping in Pinelands to inspect his car.
Police arrested the man at the Darwin Airport after returning to the NT on Friday night.
He is now facing multiple charges including Hit & Run Causing Death, Not Stopping After a Crash, and Failing To Report Crash.
The man has been bailed to appear in Darwin Local Court on November 9.
