NT Police Search and Rescue Officers have conducted a large-scale on-water training exercise in Darwin Harbour.
Three vessels were involved in the activity last week including the 11.3m police vessel Mick Read.
Other vessels included the 8.6m Police Vessel Fourcroy, and the newest addition to the fleet, the 8.6m fast-response Police Vessel Deutrom.
The exercise was conducted in an aim to help rescue workers hone their skills and further ensure the safety of Territory waters.
Acting Senior Sergeant Zac Winkworth says, “Our teams undertake rigorous and continuous training to ensure they are well-prepared for any emergency that arises, whether it’s on the water or in remote areas.”
“The addition of PV Deutrom to our fleet enhances our capacity to respond swiftly and effectively,” he says.
