A man is facing a string of charges after a 5-month long investigation into an alleged aggravated assault in Katherine.
It’s alleged 2 men assaulted 3 people who were sleeping in a shelter at First Street on October 10th last year.
A 32-year-old man has now been arrested in Acacia, and a search warrant has been conducted on his home in Girraween.
Police seized a number of illegal items including an unsecured firearm, a swordfish rostrum, and a live crocodile.
The man has been charged with 3 counts of aggravated assault, one count of possessing/using a firearm unlicensed, one count of possessing/using a firearm without a permit, and failure to meet storage requirements.
He’s due to face Darwin Local Court on June 13, and investigations into the alleged aggravated assaults are still continuing.
