A number of teenagers have been arrested over a spate of car thefts and ram raids across the Greater Darwin Region.
Police have arrested two teenagers for allegedly breaking into a woman’s home and stealing a number of items on Friday night.
It’s alleged the 13-year-old and 16-year-old also stole the woman’s car, where they were seen driving erratically around Coolalinga along with another car.
Police found the woman’s car abandoned in the northern suburbs on Saturday, and after searching the area they found the teens hiding nearby.
In a separate incident, 4 teenagers have been arrested after allegedly driving two stolen cars erratically.
Early Saturday morning police were pursuing one of the stolen cars along Channel Island Road.
During the chase, police say the stolen car did a U-turn, driving at police with the offenders throwing items out of the windows and hitting police cars, before speeding away.
Later police witnessed the same stolen car with another stolen car driving erratically down McMillan’s Road.
Members of Strike Force Trident and the Dog Squad followed one of the cars to Palmerston before the offenders came to a stop and one of the teens attempted to run away.
Police arrested a 16-year-old in relation to the incident.
The second stolen car was located at an Adelaide River service station.
Upon arriving at the service station, police say two of the offenders fled when they saw police, while the remaining youths stayed in the car.
Police arrested one 14-year-old and two 17-year-olds at the service station without incident.
In another crime attack, a licensed business in Palmerston was targeted in a break-in two times within four hours.
Police attended a business on Chung Wah Terrace just after midnight on Sunday, when during the alleged break-in the offenders were seen running away from police.
A 20-year-old man was arrested in relation to the unlawful entry and he has been taken to Palmerston Watch House.
Then, four hours later, it’s alleged another two men broke into that same business in Palmerston.
Police attended the scene where an 18-year-old and 22-year-old were trying to flee the premises with stolen alcohol – they have since both been arrested and charged.
Meanwhile that same morning, a total of four cars had been stolen from residences in Muirhead and Zuccoli.
At around 3am the cars had been driven to the Buffs Club in Stuart Park, where one of the cars was used to ram into the building, gaining entry and causing damage.
Police have arrested three youths over the ram-raid, where they are currently assisting police with another three commercial ram-raid incidents that happened overnight.
Police are urging everyone to remain vigilant and report any suspicious behaviour immediately.
