At about 5:00pm on Tuesday 11th October Police received a report of a group of male youths stealing approximately $300 worth of alcohol from the Vintage Cellars in Darwin City.
The youths were reported to have entered the store, taken the alcohol and fled the location on foot.
At about 6:15pm 2 male youths approached an adult female at the Rapid Creek Markets carpark and demanded money from her before grabbing her car keys from her hand and stealing her vehicle which was parked nearby.
At about 7:40pm 2 male youths entered the 24/7 Store on Mitchell Street, Darwin City and proceeded to steal money from the cash register.
A worker at the store attempted to prevent the theft at which time one of the youths threw a metal coffee press at her narrowly missing her.
The youths fled the location on foot, stealing approximately $1300 worth of cash and property.
Police investigating the crime series were able to identify the youths involved from CCTV footage and ascertained that the stolen motor vehicle from Rapid Creek was used by the youths at the 24/7 Store.
Through the combined efforts of members from Strike Force Trident, Dog Operations Unit, Territory Intelligence Division and General Duties the youths were tracked utilising CCTV and EMD data.
The stolen motor vehicle was recovered and 4 youths were arrested in relation to the crime series.
